Dear Colleagues,

Building on the outstanding success of the ESOR’s Research Fellowships in recent years, we are delighted to announce that Bracco, together with Siemens Healthineers, has committed to expand its support for Research Fellowships devoted to the professional and scientific development of young radiologists. I am pleased to inform you of ESOR’s new training programme, the ESOR Advanced Imaging Mentorship (AIM) programme, which is specifically dedicated to enhance cooperation between European and Chinese radiology training centres with a specific focus on research.

We would like to invite your institution to enrol as a host centre.

Purpose of the Research Fellowship

The Research Fellowship is designed to cultivate robust skills in research methodology.

Fellows will learn to:

  • acquire and manage imaging or procedural data;
  • identify and minimise bias;
  • collaborate effectively with statisticians, clinicians, and clinical scientists;
  • master relevant post-processing tools; and
  • contribute to scientific manuscripts and oral/written presentations.

This 2026 outreach campaign is specifically dedicated to radiologists residing in China (age limit: 40 years).

Duration: 3 months onsite to be completed between January and June 2026 with the possibility of prolonging the fellowship online for a maximum of three additional months if requested by the host training centre.

  • Grant: Top Fellows receive a stipend from ESOR to offset travel and accommodation costs; self-funded applicants will also have the possibility to apply.
  • Training fee: Provided without fee by the host centres – an invaluable contribution for which ESOR is deeply grateful.

 As the number of fellowships is limited, not every centre will ultimately host a fellow; nonetheless, a broad slate of esteemed European institutions is essential to give applicants meaningful choice.

How to enrol

If your centre is interested, please submit a completed research proposal, including the attached template. A proposal should include:

  • project title;
  • brief description and objectives;
  • duties and anticipated benefits for the fellow.

A centre may submit multiple proposals, each covering a different research topic.

Please complete your application by July 25, 2025 at the latest.

We very much hope your institution will join us in fostering the next generation of radiology researchers, and I look forward to receiving your enrolment.

Yours sincerely,

Prof. Christian Loewe

ESOR Scientific & Educational Director
