Course information

This course is aimed at residents in their 4th and 5th year of training in radiology and recently board-certified radiologists interested in Neuroradiology. It is strictly adhered to Level II of the European Training Curriculum and is designed for those who wish to familiarise themselves with the clinical and imaging presentations, clinical differential diagnosis of the most prevalent and important disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) diseases. The course includes six topics consisting of 40 minutes of theory and case presentations followed by a live Q&A section after each session for interaction with the faculty members.

Learning objectives

  • to become familiar with the clinical and imaging presentations, clinical differential diagnosis of the most prevalent and important disorders of the central nervous system (CNS) diseases
  • to understand the utility and accuracy of most recent diagnostic imaging techniques, with special emphasis on CT and MRI
  • to become familiar with the most common imaging signs of these diseases and the most important differential diagnosis
  • to recognise the critical clinical information provided by the imaging studies with direct implication for treatment decisions
  • to appreciate the importance of the imaging information for CNS disorders follow-up
  • to become familiar with the current interventional neuroradiology treatments focusing on patient selection and providing an introduction to the most common endovascular techniques
