The European School of Radiology (ESOR) works to harmonise radiological education in Europe, raise the standards of the scientific field and help young radiologists to achieve the knowledge and skills to meet the needs of the future.

ESOR is an institution under the European Society of Radiology (ESR) and aims to fulfill the ESR mission in the field of education.

Goals:

to assist in harmonising radiological education in Europe
to support the implementation of the European Training Curricula
to kick off an interest for subspecialisation in radiology
to support the development of subspecialty fellowships in radiology through structured training
to serve professional development by continuing radiological education
to extend and coordinate educational activities in radiology in Europe and beyond

ABOUT OUR LOGO

A radiologist at heart, the Greek owl symbolises the inner sight which penetrates and lightens the darkness of ignorance.

The owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of learning and wisdom, Athena, and is depicted on Greek and Roman currency as a symbol of status, intelligence and wealth. The owl’s eyes see through deception, external appearances and illusion, revealing hidden truths. Beliefs hold that the owl puts an end to doubt and offers better vision and clarity of the truth of events, and all aspects of learning.
