What to expect
Suitable for any ESR member interested in undertaking research, but with a particular focus on those early in their careers. This course aims to present some of the fundamental aspects of radiological research. The course consists of 1 online session of 60 min (5 min introduction, 40 min presentation, 15 min Q&A).
There is an abundance of artificial intelligence (AI) research in radiology, driving the field rapidly forward both scientifically and clinically. AI research comes with specific considerations with important implications for its quality and applicability. In this session, these considerations are addressed, to be able to critically appraise the published literature and/or get started in AI research.

- To explore best practices for using AI tools responsibly in research.
- To understand different forms of research misconduct, including AI-assisted plagiarism and data fabrication.
- To examine real-life case studies of ethical violations and discuss possible sanctions.
