cardiac imaging

What to expect
This ESOR Visiting Professorship Programme offers a comprehensive and advanced educational experience in cardiac imaging. Designed as a multimodality course, it addresses key clinical applications of both Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR. Special emphasis will be placed on the organization of a Cardiac CT service and on a structured approach to coronary CT angiography (CCTA) and its growing role in the assessment of patients with coronary artery disease, as well as on state-of-the-art indications for modern Cardiac MR. The course will also highlight the role of cardiac MR in evaluating myocardial ischemia, MINOCA (myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries), and structural cardiac conditions, and the possibilities of myocardial tissue characterization for the diagnosis, but also for the prognosis estimation in ischemic and non-ischemic myocardial disorders will be presented and discussed. Through expert-led lectures and hands-on workshops, participants will gain practical insights into state-of-the-art cardiac imaging techniques and their clinical applications.
The faculty consists of three well-known European experts who will ensure high-quality teaching. The successful structure of ESOR courses by combining the lectures with directly related interactive case discussions will be followed even in this course.

Learning Objectives
- Understand the role of CCTA and cardiac MR in the assessment of ischemic heart disease, including plaque characterization, stenosis evaluation, and myocardial tissue evaluation.
- Recognise the value of myocardial tissue characterization not only for diagnosis, but also for prognostication.
- Interpret cardiac MR studies in order to differentiate between ischemic and non-ischemic myocardial disorders.
- Apply multimodality cardiac imaging in pulmonary embolism
