What to expect

This ESOR Visiting Professorship Programme offers a comprehensive and advanced educational experience in cardiac imaging, with a particular focus on the practical application of Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR in contemporary clinical practice.

The programme addresses key clinical applications of cardiac CT, including the assessment of coronary artery stenosis and the broader role of CT in the acute setting. Particular emphasis will be placed on coronary CT angiography (CCTA) for the evaluation of patients with suspected or established coronary artery disease, as well as on the use of cardiac CT in acute coronary syndromes (ACS), pulmonary embolism (PE), and acute aortic syndromes (AAS).

The Cardiac MR programme will focus on the evaluation of myocardial ischaemia, myocardial infarction and MINOCA (myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries), as well as on the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of cardiomyopathies. Special attention will be given to the classification and imaging features of different cardiomyopathic phenotypes, including hypertrophic and non-hypertrophic forms, and to the role of Cardiac MR in the assessment of myocardial inflammation.

A central component of the programme will be the practical interpretation of cardiac imaging studies. Through interactive workshops, self-reading sessions and expert-led case discussions, participants will have the opportunity to apply the concepts presented in the lectures to real-world clinical cases. The programme will encourage a structured and clinically oriented approach to image interpretation, with direct interaction between participants and internationally recognised experts.

The faculty consists of three renowned European experts in cardiac imaging, who will provide high-quality teaching and share their extensive experience in Cardiac CT and Cardiac MR. The successful ESOR educational concept of combining concise, clinically relevant lectures with directly related interactive case discussions and hands-on learning will be an integral part of the course.

Our Visiting Professorship Programme brings education and career-building networks all over the world. Check out the overview to find out when we will visit you!
